A birthday gift session for mum from the family
This family photography session was a very special gift from the family for the mum, Lina, to celebrate her birthday. Her daughter Lucy got in touch with me one day and told me that she, her fiance, father, and brother, wanted to do something special for Lina for her birthday since her parents had just bought a new home and they wanted to gift Lina with some new family photographs so that she could decorate her new place with brand new family photographs! What a fantastic gift idea!
The chosen photo session location was one of my favourite locations for portrait photoshoots - the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. This place I find perfect for virtually any kind of portrait session; solo portrait sessions, family sessions, maternity sessions, baby sessions, and weddings. The Royal Botanic Gardens has the beautiful backdrop of Sydney Opera House if you walk towards the waters, but you also have the flower gardens, the cacti garden, and the impressive tall palm trees, and more. The best thing about this garden is how it changes over the seasons and your images will reflect the season that you had your session so that you can always look back on it and remember the day and the special moment.
On the session day, when we got together at our meeting point inside the gardens, I had a number of video clips that I had taken of the various spots inside the gardens so that Lina could pick which spots she wants to take the photographs. She picked the beautiful trellis area and the water front spot where you can see Sydney Opera House.
The final spot we took the photographs, just as the sun was setting, was the beautiful yellow daisies flower bed, which was glowing in the sunset and created the most beautiful setting to conclude this special session!
